Edgard (z"l) and Jean Zorbibe are two brothers who are philanthropists and former owners and founders of the global chain of stores Lancel.
Chantal Caray was their niece who died young after suffering from a long illness. Despite all her suffering, she always had a smile on her face.
After her death, Edgard (z"l) and Jean Zorbibe decided to establish a philanthropic foundation in her name, which would help children. They asked Rabbi Amar and his son Shlomi to look for a building in Jerusalem to realize his vision, and with the help of the Jerusalem Municipality they located a site in the Talpiot neighborhood. Since then the Chantal Caray Center has been a warm home for children and teens from the neighborhood, most of them immigrants from Ethiopia who experience great difficulties in acclimatization.
